Autumn-Winter 2012/13 — Matthew Williamson brought some sensibility back to a fashion week which, by reputation, is loud, quirky and kooky. His collection imbued class and sophistication, it was grown up; the embodiment of stylish. The rich metallic palette made up bronze lamé tailored trousers, gold flecked tweed coats and rich brocades in gold and green. Iridescent chiffon T-shirts over cashmere polo-necks and sheer nude silk blouses all made for a glossy visage. Exotic prints showed their worth making for flashes of neon in a collection that was refreshingly bright. Neon embellishments adorned full-length chiffon dresses, dresses which, at times, were incredible bohemian. Pretty blue shifts and suits were very mature; a perception which extended right the way through the line as billowing chiffon robes were a touch on the conservative side.
