Spring-Summer 2013 – Mouret went back to the future for this Spring-Summer show, with an eighties inspired collection. Initially, this took shape with the perfect plush red power dressing suit with padded shoulders and a high waisted pencil skirt with a seductive slit up the front and worn with a little crop-top underneath. There were many sleek pencil skirts worn with sleeveless shirts with accentuated collar details. This dissection created a figure-hugging and streamlined silhouette. Drapes, pleated tops and origami-style folds on strapless dresses were very crisp and created a boxy shape on the jackets, whilst interesting folds joining skirts with tops allowing for a snippet of colour. The ubiquitous peplum presented a new shape around the waist and on tapered trousers. It seems that tailored shorts are to replace the skirt with Mouret cementing a trend that has been in abundance this year. It was sharp and slick with interesting shapes giving newness to the silhouette.
