Spring-Summer 2013 – Gareth Pugh took us on a tour of the sinister and slightly scary show in a loosely Spanish way. This was represented by the first model who was draped head-to-toe in black – her face covered with a dramatic veil originating high above her head. Equally dramatic were the high rising collars finishing just below the ears. Leather was pertinent tailoring stiff corsets, sleeves and leggings; all worn with theatric red eyeshadow, lipstick and claw-like nails. The silhouette was thrilling with huge flared sleeves along with exaggerated flared trousers. There were capes fit for Dracula with black being the colour of choice. The key element here was the lack of skin on show, hence dresses were worn with black leggings and ankle boots. Intersperses of metallic silver, red and white showed the importance of layering and showed the unfinished look with ragged hems along with heavy fringing. Lengths were long with both maxi-dresses and trousers trailing along the floor whilst finale outfits were a cascade of capes and ruffles.
