Salvatore Ferragamo

Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – “What I really want to tell is a story of a sensual man,” and sensuality he conveyed tenfold. Opening with neutral colours, creams, tans and beiges, perfectly tailored suits with a slight boot cut on the trouser and polo neck jumpers as a nod to the seventies. His large sheepskin duffel coat, corduroy jackets suede shirts and trousers made you want to reach out and touch the soft fabrics. Suits became sharper, more interesting. Copper with gold pinstripe, brushed dark copper like a dirty penny, poison green and teal, trilbies with large rims and long silk cravats. His lace up suede shirts and sky blue knit jumpers, looking like something Casanova might wear enhanced this feeling of sensuality. There were a few military expressions in there, a felt beret, combat trousers, gold buttoned double breasted military jackets, but it never strayed from the indulgent.
