Spring-Summer 2014 – One comprehension forgotten about the Nineties was the ease of getting dressed. Rake a comb through you hair and pack your wardrobe with a slip dress, tailored trousers, a plain t-shirt or two and hidden vintage gems from flea markets, was the only attire considered necessary. Such little fuss about hair and make-up was made compared to the time-consuming, self-pampering executed today. Marc Jacob revived this low-key concept once more.

Towards the end of the show sequins and metallic palettes crept in as it embodied a 1920’s circus solace. Clown styled stars and zigzagging covered jumpsuits and dresses whilst satin materials coloured like a circus-tent panelled bomber jackets with matching shorts. With such a burst of accessible colour and embellishment, Marc Jacob brought the collection back down a notch with minimal layering. The SS14 low-key principles, just add a white T-shirt and trainers.
