Salvatore Ferragamo

Spring-Summer 2013 – Ferragamo presented the ultimate collection for powerful, mature and precise dressing. Knee-high riding boots were reworked with peep toes and laced up the back. This reinvention provided the precedent for the rest of the collection in which the basic silhouette was reshaped. Take for instance the jacket – a basic trench modelled with funnel necks, crisp pleats and tied, as apposed to buckled belts. It was cool and contemporary with biscuit coloured separates tailored in luxe fabrics creating a buttery look. Trousers and skirts slung low on the hip with the belt being the central focus here. Jackets were also a key feature in the collection coming with multiple lapels, layers and prints such as snakeskin. Paper-like folds will be strong next Spring-Summer with crisp white dresses having sharp folds at the hem. At times it was sexed up with leather swaths covering the chest on netted tops, and sheer tops worn under blazers. Being both current and concise it was a perfect collection for the contemporary woman.
