Alberta Ferretti

Spring-Summer 2013 – In stark contrast to Gucci, Ferretti took us on a tour of light, water, movement and crystals: rather than bright and poppy it was romantic and shimmery. We were taken into the sea with a backdrop of bubbles and asnfor the clothes, they were light as air. Wispy peplums so thin they verged on being translucent, delicate embellishment so discrete it added a hint of glimmer and as for the fabric, so soft it flouted. Many of the clothes produced a luminous sheen such as an outfit consisting of a blue chiffon top and cropped cigarette trousers. Beautiful neutral coloured dresses became the perfect party piece with a cascade of beaded tassels. Capes streamed down the back of draped tops; the classiest of outfit with the slick silver trousers. Coral reef prints wrapped round the shoulders and then spilled onto the torso meeting a delicate foray of chiffon. It was a soft and sensual show full of shimmer, sheen, tassels and embroidery.
