Spring-Summer 2012 – The program header: ‘Film”. The assumption: the collaboration of film and fashion. To begin, the razzle-dazzle of the 1920’s came to town, but this time with modern touch. Sequins and tassels became shimmering synthetic fibers on skirts and dresses. The western cowgirl was pellucid, metaphorically galloping down the runway with a fringe leather coat, and you guessed it, clear plastic cowboy boots. The boots solidified the prominence of iridescent textiles used on the hem of skirts, before making paillettes on sleeveless shifts. Up next came the ginghams. One looks to Judy Garland’s debut as Dorothy here. The juxtapose of textures bolstered the experimentation aspect of the collection. Luminous opaque draped silicone skirts and there was a heavy use of cashmere sweatshirts. The cocktail girl, symptomatic of fashion and film, seemed to push her way into the limelight through headscarves and v-neck dresses that culminated at the jazzed up hemline.  The ritz was here.
