Emporio Armani

Spring-Summer 2012 – The understated colouration, or some might say lack of colour, led to a mature collection and helped to display the immaculate tailoring and quality of the clothes in the typical Armani way. The formal blacks and whites were interspersed with marbled pastel prints and sequins were layered on thick. The clothing was serious with white trouser suits edged in black – or vice versa. Every model wore a boater ornamented with a wide black ribbon and on their arms sported pastel hued-cuffs. Another key accessory was the bumbag and the oversize see-through totes. The perspex bags, heels and cuffs hinted at the futurism entwined with the collection: a modernistic touch was introduced when hems were wired creating a hula-hoop shape. Dresses with halter necks purported that this style is big for S/S: the soft silk dresses fell just above the knee. It was an elegantly grownup show.
