Spring – Summer 2014 – Set in the ornate ballroom of The Savoy, Alice Temperley celebrated this winters’ ‘in’ colour of pink and furthered the fashion in her Spring/Summer’14 collection.  Wearing pink is now the guilt-free shade from pastels to mauve in floral prints of freesia blossoms; dainty handcrafted petals and abstracted orchids. Long, narrow gowns crafted out of silk were stiffened with sharp structuring and a pinafore-type panelling. Her woman is dignified, luxuriously contemporary yet comfortable.  Temperley said she had “dreamt about celebrating life in a rich, full fragrant Sicilian adventure”.

Romantic floral patterns effortlessly transpired into light leopard prints: the contrast was truly innovative as the earthy tones made the collection of ultra-feminine, pink gowns non reductive. Floor sweeping, maxi dress floated along the runway radiating casual glamour, perfect for a warm summer evening of splendour. As the final parade of models came out a colossal round of applause honoured the substantially sublime collection.
