Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – Who says AW has to be an endless series of browns, blacks and greys? Not Peter Pilotto that’s for sure as their AW collection showcased one of the most varied and exciting colour palettes of the season.

Choosing to discard any unwritten rules about clashing prints, this range saw digital, landscape, retro and geometrical inspired patterns all come together to create an eye-catching mash-up.

Unsurprisingly, the display of fabrics were as varied as the patterns. Peter Pilotto combined quilted fabrics gowns with heavily embellished sequin skirts and added layers of fur on to just about everything else. Whilst the series of furry, high rise collars gave the collection its AW inspired feel, the quilted fabric added texture and the pretty embellishments added a layer of evening elegance.

Sticking with the ‘mash-up’ theme the collection also presented a variety of different shapes. Subtle pleats, split hems and fabric folds all came together to create a series of silhouettes that flowed down the runway with ease.

Regardless of its accessibility, Peter Pilotto’s contribution to AW14 was unique, brave and lively to its core.
