DKNY

Autumn – Winter 2013/14

The bright and luminescent backdrop at the DKNY show certainly did not distract the creations which unfolded for the audience. An oversized look was used in outerwear with cocoon shaped coats and rounded shoulder bomber jackets. The DKNY take on the season’s recurring leopard print pattern was flirty and vibrant, showing enlarged signs on jumpers and minimised on dresses. The pink and white leopard bomber/skirt combination was a daring choice for one of Donna Karan’s looks but worked well alongside her other plainer, yet clean cut garments.

Fabrics seemed to be panelled with a scuba suit look and a contrast of both light to dark colours. The alternating hem lengths on the likes of cropped coats and jumpers over collared shirts also created a stylish layered look. For one of the final looks, Cara Delevinge showcased a quilted cropped jumper over a flowing chiffon gown – an unlikely but perfect combination.
