Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Endlessly classes as always, this show offered their dark side to this fashion season’s take on vampish goth, so, on queue, oodles of black, leather and dark lipstick graced the catwalk for YSL’s take on the new Goth. At first, leather took over lapels of padded shouldered jackets and then took to high-waisted leather trousers. The new wave of jackets suggests autumn-winter will be about the domineering black cape as YSL paired theirs with three-quarter trousers and slick-back hair. A sliver chain-mail dress was particularly pertinent nipped in with strong black waist-belt and hinted at a slight medieval feel helped by knightly gloves. Again, it was the black suit which dominated – as long as it incorporated strong leather – before impeccably cut black maxi-dresses (with a chain-mail trim) showed why YSL is so still so timeless.
