Balenciaga

Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The space-age theme has been pertinent in Paris and it looked set to stay this way at Balenciaga. It seemed to be technologically advanced with bloated, boxy jackets which puffed away from the body, otherwise, a crisp metallic sheen made up trousers in blue and black; it was an almost a waterproof like look. The oversized-come-baggy silhouette touched everything: dresses drooped to the knees, with crisp metallic stripes, voluptuous trousers and skirts were given shape upon pulled in waists, or at times, maintained the similar boxy-silhouette seen at Balmain. Diaphanous silk skirts, shoe boots, space-age gloves, and out the ordinary Star Wars like jumpers each created an out-of-world experience, coming in mint and white, teal and pink and oyster grey and moss green and blues. It was young and fresh and boxy, strong shapes dominated for an extroverted collection.
