Miu Miu

Autumn-Winter 2011/12 –  Sophistication was in the air today, as the usual youthful complexion of the Miu Miu girl had matured. Indicative of this was the broad shoulders which sculpted coats, dresses and tops. The sculpted nature touched all aspects of the collection, often deconstructed bows and ribbons nipped in the waist and at intervals broke up the magnitude of prints. These prints took the form of dandelions, daisies, snowdrops and swallows. They flittered around polished coats or took over formal dresses; formality dominating the collection. The demure grey and black dresses and tops bedecked white collars and the occasional twisted mink was formed as cummerbunds or shoulder shrugs. Clutch bags were made to look like oversize clip frame purses and were worn under the arm or held in the hand. The uniform colours of black, grey and navy were interjected with spurts of mustard yellow, white and cream. The muddy palette was symbolic of the collection. Miu Miu had matured.
