Paul Smith
Paul Smith Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – For a label that started out focusing on menswear, Paul Smith has shown its enduring appeal has been in reinventing and expanding British style.
The collection showcased classic tailoring in the form of pant suits in a beautifully understated manner that screamed luxury. The colour orange burst onto the catwalk in the form of a single stripe on a contrasting suit, similarly on a coat and- for the eagle eyed- on the lining of a jacket.
Paul Smith exhibited to perfection how women can borrow from men style by putting our own spin on it. Case in point was a double breasted coat dress that wouldn’t look amiss in a dapper gentleman’s wardrobe.
The collection featured eaten apple motifs accessorised with a bitten apple necklace that could be a possible reference to forbidden fruit. The classic Paul Smith hallmark of multi-coloured stripes was evident in a gorgeous pleated skirt and on the edges of a handbag.
