Narciso Rodriguez Woman Spring Summer 2017 – Sleek shapes and long lines characterized this season at Narcisco Rodriguez, complemented by bias cut draping and discreet details. Soft shapes mark the show, in the form of long linen shifts with deep necklines buttoned through the midsection, splitting again for a high slit. Pleated trousers and sleeveless blouses paired under clean cut coats and plain jackets. A deep v-neck top runs long at the sides, leaving a train behind the wearer, and a silky black robe over a sheer white dress, and silver slippers.

Bright orange and a rich, golden yellow broke up the parade of black and white. A spotted pattern, smeared like paint bleeding through the fabric, or a rorschach test, covered the front of several dresses; a sheer tank top with clover-shaped opaque fabric over the breasts appeared twice. Black trousers and a shirt of shiny, metallic feathers catches the eye, standing out for the severity of its texture in comparison, and brings to mind a raven. Metal rings resemble bubbles over a silver sheath, seen again in a long, black evening dress.

Pointed shoes, flat or wedge-heeled, were the footwear of choice, while a slightly rounded nubuck tote was clutched by several models. Refined luxury and understated shapes exemplified this show, while still presenting sensational, elegant pieces.
