Spring-Summer 2013 – It’s clear to see that sports and leisure wear was the order of the day on the Prada menswear catwalks. I say menswear although it was not so clear what gender this collection was for, with men and women gracing the stark runway, the predominantly gender neutral clothing was in no way ground breaking. Muccia admitted “The border is a timeless decoration, from Ancient Greece onwards” making one default toward the obvious inspiration drawn from the upcoming Olympic games, the red, white and blue reminding us further of the possible theme.  The silhouettes and block colour borders however were reminiscent of the late 1960s Art deco style, all straight lines and stylish draping. Mixed in with the faux fur and sporty headband it was impossible to ignore this decade, but also impossible to ignore the future for Prada. Its left a blank canvas for what might come next.
