Martin Margiela

Spring-Summer 2012 – Margiela at the movies was as entertaining as watching a movie. It took pieces which could be formal and with colour and slight style changes made them as casual as going to the movies. Royal blue suits slightly baggy in the trouser, sheer jackets with patchwork in different textures and the shirts pattern showing underneath, head to toe pale denim with a print scarf casually draped around the neck, cummerbund worn with dark jeans and a plain white t-shirt. Most of his trousers feature a brighter turn up and a lot of the models sport round eighties style glasses. It’s Hollywood at its finest, the “smart is no longer art” industry types.
