Balmain

Spring-Summer 2012 – This first collection from Christophe Decarnin’s former assistant Olivier Rousteing collection stuck to the edgy roots of Balmain menswear featuring snakeskin, utility trousers and military jackets, but gave it a feminine, softer touch with cropped shoulder padded jackets, tighter loose neck t-shirts and skinny jeans. He gave it a new twist with lightweight scarves in pale pastels, chopped the sleeves off jackets and flared the sleeves ever so slightly. A trueness to the label ensued, but with the personal touches of a new vision.
