Junia Watanabe

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – As soon as the first model appeared my mind shot straight to a character out of a Tim Burton film. The patchwork trousers and ‘out there’ hairstyles combine animation with sci-fi features.

In contrast, Junya has kept the top half normal; the smart shirt, tie and jacket is well fitting and brings a gentlemanly style. With the change in the garment bottoms, patchwork and long socks evokes a look of childhood.

The colours used are traditional, very industrial, navy blues and forest greens but have been brightened up with a touch bright pink, yellow and orange. Accentuated by brightly coloured hair and structured cuts, the division of the outfits cause a sight for sore eyes.
