Autumn-Winter 2013/14

At Louis Vuitton, the cat came out to play. The collection began to adhere to all the qualities the feline possesses, the stamina, stealth and nature to survive. The man shown here was going somewhere yet it was masked and concealed amongst rich and opulent garments, a top cat who never reveals his tricks.

Smooth butterscotch tones came on the usual Louis Vuitton rich fabrics and created the muted leopard print which came on jackets and out coats that carried the bulk of the cat sentiment before moving on to cinched in slate trench coats in wool, oversized cream duffle coats and luxurious parkas.

So with all of this it’s pretty obvious that outwear is an important garment for Kim Jones. Moving on, suiting came in charcoal before shifting in a bouquet of floral tapestry print with matching carrying cases and lavish dressing gowns . This was in part taken from the show’s inspiration of Bhutanese men who come from a place where the snow leopard and tiger collide, Kim Jones said after the show. He spoke about the adventure of visiting Bhutan which holds a mysterious if not isolationist quality still, and this was heartily conceived and painted into the collection.
