Autumn-Winter 2011/12 – Dean and Dan Caten’s collection shows a celebration for the manual working man. It started with nods towards the cowboy look, with, distressed jeans and large brimmed hats.  Then came the Fisherman look; leather gloves with large cuffs and a white apron. Hats featured heavily in the style of the Pennsylvania Dutch, reinforcing the style of the rural, agricultural man. The leathers, suedes, metal studded belts and denim for shirts and jeans, convey hard wearing clothes, for the dutiful man. The pair adds an air of luxury with crystal beaded waistcoats and cravat style scarves and show some beautifully tailored suit jackets, but this collection predominantly leaves me with the desire to go spend some time on a ranch.
