Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela Man Spring-Summer 2017 – The Margiela’s show exuded cool and collected, wearable style. Tailoring was soft and relaxed with rolled up hems and cuffs adding to the comfortable, carefree feel of the show. Trench coats were a reoccurring garment throughout the display and they too were flowy and fluid, without the harsh lines of classic, stiffer trenches. Although the collection was largely minimalistic in terms of prints and colours with an array of simple beiges, creams and greys, there was the odd pop of colour and print, such as a white and orange shirt emblazoned with what looked to be a painting of a fox. Accessories were also relaxed and minimal, with simple earrings allowing the clothes to make a statement on their own. Modest leather belts around the waist also worked towards drawing the eye towards the garments themselves. Overall, an undoubtedly fresh and relaxed show from Maison Margiela
