Kenzo

Kenzo Man Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s collection was inspired by artic subculture surfers. There was the layering of clothing that bears in mind weather conditions. These looks also displayed influence from street wear, as observed throughout the shows. This was yet another display of menswear and womenswear together. It reflected the current issues regarding gender equality and the views around the matter.

In true Kenzo style, colour was used throughout with the mixing of texture and prints. There were the brightly colours padded jackets and an oversized anorak, that added the fun element in being practical.  Long colourful chunky knits were worn with balaclavas. Printed ski outfits were teamed with checked jackets.

The womenswear looks were just as creative. The female figure was enhanced with the use of chunky, sporty waist belts. Soft, flowing dresses gave a sense of gentleness compared to the rest of the collection.

Gone are the days where outdoor and sports wear looks are not given much thought. We have reached a point where fashion is being greatly influenced by street wear and sports.
