Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott Woman Spring Summer 2017 – If your mother is anything like mine, she’ll exclaim her love for this collection, an array of 1980’s looks, a display of bright neons and graphic prints worn over shiny pumps that will bring that certain generation back to their heyday.

Bubblegum pink colored the slogans branded across sweaters, t-shirts, dresses and swimsuits, screaming “New York,” and “HOT HOT HOT.” A black leather dress was covered in triangular cuts, that fell to lie against the dress revealing bright red lining. Stocking-clad legs patterned a pants and bustier set, and a single pair of legs printed on shirts appeared to sprout a head. White faces with red lips and blue-shadowed eyes gazed from dresses, t-shirts, and more. An aqua-coloured sweatshirt mimicked a toothpaste ad, “Jeremy” scrawled across in striped cursive as if in toothpaste, the jingle “fights decay” in orange lettering beneath; a red leather skirt and matching pumps completed the look. Patterned trench coats and graphic-print t-shirt dresses appeared between form-hugging dresses and pencil skirts. Several menswear looks were shown between the womenswear, reflecting the themes in leather pants, slogan sweaters and dizzying checkered prints. One model strutted in bright pink leather pants and a graphically printed button-down, while another wore a fluorescent blue motorcycle jacket and pants printed with pop art faces in a rainbow of filters.

Sequins made up the end of the collection, parading down the runway on a batch of catsuits and sculptural dresses featuring flat circles that added a UFO shape to one dress, and flipped to lay flat along the body in others. One skirt left the model looking as though she was emerging from a black sequined box, her bright blue, zippered bra and pink shoes seeming to pop in comparison.

Solitary statement earrings in bright colors hung from ears, tubular in shape. Asymmetrical bobs curved towards each model’s face, while bright polish shone from their fingers. Giant safety pins clasped pieces together, and zippers were left half-open in a tidy form of intentional disarray. A treaded blue and yellow rubber makes up a triangular handbag and the matching blue heels.
