Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2017 – Employing professionalism and modernity, Jean Paul Gaultier’s pairings of understated suits with varieties of bright colours and accessories works to epitomize the fast paced evolution of the working world. Striking additions of femininity to otherwise black trousers and skirts, as seen in the use of lace and fabric, work to highlight the growth of women amidst masculine society. Colour acts as a centerpiece to the collection, from beautiful yellows to midnight blues both within the outfits themselves but also as part of makeup and accessory choice. Bright neon eyeshadows and lipsticks work to make a bold statement that contrasts the use of barefoot and more neutral coloured shoes.  A variety of texture is similarly utilized, with metallic corsets providing modern contrast to the understated simplicity of white blazers and suit trousers accented with ornate sleeves.
