Hermes

Hermes Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – A retro modernism was exhibited in Hermès AW17 collection where funky designs complimented structured looks.

Leather was a component that Hermès relied on heavily within this show, prevalent in a zipped and slipped skirt, boxy pant with a masculine tinge, and thick, striped belts which emphasized the waist in an extravagant fashion. These contrasted to the softer looks on offer, most notably achieved through the tight-fitting yellow designs; a structured overcoat was paired with similar yellow shades in a tailored pant and thin, diagonally patterned jumper, not to mention a mustard-knit dress and matching cardigan with caramel and butterscotch shading. A layered combination of pastel pink and beige was produced in a floor-length coat with quilted inside contrasting the soft lapel and leather exterior. Striped tights were set against laced boots to finish the high-necked jumper ensemble; highlighting the sheer love of antithesis.

Bold contrasts were also staples, with off-red tights juxtaposing a black leather skirt only slightly visible underneath a loose-fitting navy jumper and cape finish, as did a two-tone fluffed coat which was set against a splash of turquoise and teal.
