Elie Saab

Spring-Summer 2013

Elie Saab’s Spring Summer 2013 couture offering seemed to mirror the snowy conditions that covered the Paris landscape. Floor length gowns were adorned in delicate, glistening embroidery as light as icicles, making the dresses appear as though they were stuck to the skin, swirls of beading trailing across the décolletage. From elegant midi length dresses, to red carpet worthy gowns with ornate bustiers, Saab showed a palette that began with virginal white through to icy blue and lilac, and ended with gothic black that still retained a delicacy. The floral trend that has been seen throughout the couture shows was seen again, with lace flowers interspersed across the fabric.
