Spring-Summer 2012 – Forward-thinking, unique, innovation, progressive and modern; the diction that can be used so frequently for Givenchy. This has always been the case and this time, it’s no different.  The use of a basketball court and a basketball had the smallest relevance to the collection, but it did its job; gave it the conceptual element that availed throughout the course of the presentation. The ‘hoops’ through the models noises and the few faded stars were possibly the only hints of anything along the lines of the sport. But, who cared. The clothing was incredibly dramatic the rich bronze and black purported the Gothic-touch Riccardo is so reputable for. A dash of sensibility and a touch of animalistic flair created an art-deco element via hand beadwork and weightless tulle against heavy crocodile skin, chains and studs. The palette of black, chocolate brown and white was uncomplicated and worked for well for the sensational courtier of clothing.
