Autumn-Winter 2010/11 – It wouldn’t be Couture without the wonderfully wild and this time Galliano brought us incredible shapes and delectable flowers. The decorative and engaging backdrop of plastic parrot tulips set the perfect tone for the enchanting collection as the girls created a floral assemblage. Their hair had been scooped back to form a sky high beehive sculpture, and on occasion encased in cellophane headdresses which changed the colour of their face. Exotic violet, pink, orange, blue and yellow was just the tip of the iceberg to the multitude of colours that burst onto the scene. Multilayered skirts and tulip shaped dresses were created from mohair and chiffon. The array of fabrics, including tulle, created exciting shapes like nip-waisted jackets and puffball extravagances. The finale dresses were just as exotic as giant robes were created from a multitude of colours. It was quite the floral fairytale.
