Elie Saab

Autumn-Winter 2013/14 – The concept of the red carpet is simple: glitz and glamour. This was wholeheartedly delivered at the Saab show. With a flash red floor, the first gown to grace the catwalk was an all sparkling red ball gown, full of sequins and shimmer. The never ending display of crystals glung to a variety of ball gowns, ranging from full length, to shorter cocktail dresses. There was nothing over complicated here, the shaping of the gowns were only delicately clinched in at the waist. The palette of rich red, navy, forest green and dove grey was reigned in and focused, with the show divided into chapters based on colour alone. This worked well, giving the customer more of an offer, with each colour representing a variety of styles, be that shorter or longer dresses, asymmetric necklines or heavily draped or embellished. It really was a master-class in Couture gowns with the finale dress representing the fine craftsmanship of Couture.
