Grinko

Grinko Woman Spring Summer 2017 – This collection from Russian born Sergei Grinko was fresh and contemporary. Whilst there were strong elements from his previous work, it was clear that the designer had established a sportier feel to his pieces. Whilst others showcased flamboyant and glittering collections packed with colour, Grinko was a refreshing change. Instead the look was edgy, simple and effortlessly chic.

Casual graphic tees were paired with mini shorts or long slouchy trousers. Several pieces included a surreal monochrome ladybird print designed by graphic artist Irina Matyushenko. Sporty silhouettes included hoods and zips down the centre of the body and were accessorised with structured bum bags. Caps also featured heavily and were embellished with silver hoops dangling along the brim. The high ponytails sported by models enhanced the cool fuss-free feel.

Fringing was also a highlight of the show and could be seen adorning t-shirts, dress fronts and shirt pockets. Whilst most of the collection was black and white there were welcome pops of pinks and purples throughout, adding a fun element to an otherwise serious show.
