Christian Dior Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – The Dior designers have created a gothic fantasy with these ensembles.  The designers call upon archaic perhaps early 1900 styles using minimalistic colours black and white.  This daring creation features pleats and flared floaty skirts with models including Bella Hadid.  The silhouette, being very feminine in most garments focuses on the waist and the shoulders attempted to created an hourglass look.  Some garments have incredibly intricate designs with sequins woven into the fabrics.  Although the garments present us with volume, this volume s not harsh, perhaps best described as light.  All the models wore flat sandals tied with ribbon.  With silk and muslin this creation is the stuff of dark dreams and can almost be compared to Black Swan. The hair is slicked back with a middle part and the eyes are over lined with black eyeliner for added drama.
