Autumn-Winter 2013/14

As the backdrop of London chimed to the bells of Big Ben, Burberry set to work showcasing a collection that glinted with flamboyance and charm as only the British can do.

Head designer, Christopher Bailey seemed to have a unique vision for Burberry within a year’s time and the classic trench coat was placed in second, as the raincoat appeared to be Bailey’s choice. So out came the raincoats in a smorgasbord of textures and tones with the inclusion of rubber in white, burgundy, navy and rich dark yellow.

It was an interesting twist to the classic Burberry design and under the translucent coats were heart motifs, blotted through on shirts and jumpers. These coats weren’t the only surprise as animal print; leopard and tiger to be exact, created coats, shoes and accessories that stole the sight of all who were watching in their bold stampede.

It was indeed a mix up of sorts, yet it signals just like last season a change in the tradition as it moves triumphantly into a new season.
