Acne Studios Women Spring Summer 2016 –

Jonny Johansson’s vision for Acne Studios SS16 was one of revealing crop tops and micro miniskirts; unlike other designers, who have favoured a more covered up, loose aesthetic.  Johansson’s designs are edgy with a distinctly youthful vibe; netting is used in abundance, while models stomp down the catwalk in clumpy flat Birkenstock style sandals with ruched fabric at the ankles.

Velvet was also used to create thigh high emerald green boots and shift dresses, and circular graphics were printed onto maxi dresses.  The models had their hair cut into blunt fringes, while minimal make up was worn accentuated by a slick of red lipstick.  Acne Studios is a brand known for its unique, cutting edge aesthetic, and the SS16 collection was no exception.
