Voile

Voile fabric is a sheer fabric. It is fine and lightweight and usually constructed using a plain weave. Generally, Voile fabric is made using 100% Cotton, or Cotton blended with other fibres such as Linen, Silk, Viscose or Polyester and other synthetic fibres. It is very similar to Chiffon and can be used in garments, usually layered to prevent it being too transparent or over another opaque fabric. Voile creases easily and its name comes from the French language meaning ‘Veil.’ It is mainly however used in upholstery and furnishings for things such as curtains and mosquito nets as it is available in various colours and patterns.
