Moroccan
Many designers cite Morocco as an influence for their collections, due to the country’s diversity and rich blend of culture. Traditional Moroccan garments continually find their way onto the catwalks – kaftans, beaded sandals and silk traveller trousers are all examples of traditional garments which have influenced designers. For example, the recurring boho trend is modelled heavily on Moroccan clothing in terms of fabric, fit and design, and designers such as Missoni are heavily influenced by Moroccan culture, regularly showing kaftans and maxi dresses in exotic prints. As designers continue to be inspired by the Middle East, the popularity of young Moroccan designers is beginning to surge, establishing Morocco as a true landmark in terms of fashion.
