Chintz

Chintz patterns are usually made up of floral or other organic motifs. These motifs are repeated, using many different colours and then printed onto Calico which is glazed. Chintz patterns are renowned for being quite busy and it is used frequently in draping and China crockery, but it is also used for apparel. It dates back from the 1600’s, and is still used today.
