Nadja was encouraged to get into modelling by her sister, after noticing what a hit with the boys at school she was, in order to make the most of her long and lean physique.  In 1989 Nadja attended a casting in Berlin for a travel catalogue and all the positive feedback she received from the directors led Nadja to travel to Paris to pursue her modelling career.

In the same year Nadja appeared alongside Kristen McMenamy, Christy Turlignton, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Stephanie Seymour in the iconic miniskirt campaign for Versace, shot by Richard Avedon.

In 1997 Nadja had her first child, a daughter called Cosima with Olaf Bjorn. Two years later she married German actor. Wolfram Grandezka and she had her second child, a son called Nicolas the same year. The couple later divorced.

Nadja has continued to work in the fashion industry; she launched her own self titled perfume in 2003 and in the same year became the face of Wonderbra. Alongside her work as a model Nadja has also worked as an actress, starring in two German films, ‘Letztes Kapitel’ and ‘Dornroschens Leiser Tod’.
