DIANE VON FURSTENBERG F/W 2012: PRINCESS OF PLUSH
Nothing says accomplished like a Diane Von Furstenberg piece. Nearly six months ago the debutante of her 60s, queen of prim and RTW novelty,charmed us with her Fall 2012 collection. An appetizer as most runways are, the show held us over until now. As we prepare to slip into those Fall pieces in the most vogue of ways, enviably, the President of Council of Fashion Design of America (CFDA) propels our social life as we find every excuse to adorn ourselves in anything DVF.The businesswoman and luxury label hits another high note with her creative palette and unrivaled patterns, with nuances between Marc Jacobs, Malene Birger and a Prada palette splash.
Injecting raw couture is that of Diane’s top shelf creative director Yvan Misplearere who takes the DVF collection and surpasses the nines with elongated waistlines and disarming hues of autumn. Drawing inspirations from art and culture including Elsa Schiaparelli’s upcoming exhibition, while oozing the sass of a stylish board of directors, shades of berry and post summer glow fold into silk and chiffon, overlaying darker tones evocative of taverns and ales. As black leathers, wide belts, savory golds and lavish purples enter into the lineup the collection ends a viable competitor for this season’s high scoring wardrobe.
