Alexander McQueen

Spring-Summer 2015 – The S/S15 by Alexander McQueen is played on harmonious tensions between lightness and heaviness, combining antithetical elements in balanced clashes of soft and structured textures, clearly visible in the simultaneous use of laser cut leather details and organza flower fabrics.

First of all the colour palette, which is also based on juxtapositions of aggressive tones – like black and flame red – and subtle colours as candy pink and white.

Decorations and details seem to be inspired by a fresh interpretation of orientalism influences, creating enlarged flamboyant prints and definite flowery embroideries.

The female body is re-constructed through the garments, building specific silhouettes that are meant to force the natural anatomy in a proportioned alternation of structured shapes and soft volumes.
