Spring-Summer 2013 – The brightly coloured invitations hinted at what was to be a bright show, full of vibrant colours evoking the memories of the last holiday. Brightly coloured bucket bags, head scarfs and oversized ribbon and pom-pom earrings were the start of a show which produced reds, oranges, yellows and snippets of blue. The beauty of Dolce & Gabbana is their undying ability to paint the picture of Italy and this time it was the powerful portrayal of the streets of Sicily with prints of the city’s street puppet theatrics. In this sense it was frivolous with short dresses, tiny skirts and classic bra tops. Nautical black and white, green and white and red and white striped tops, skirts and dresses also pertained to the summer story. As has been the trend through fashion week, sleeves were oversized and batwing shaped. In all, it was charismatic, opulent and fun, ending with a series of different Fifties swimsuits, shorts and bikini sets.
