Jason Wu

Jason Wu Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Jason Wu’s collection felt like it was designed for the cool, female professional, the work she does and the parties she attends. It was a fairly succinct collection of thirty-three looks, but ach was free standing and ready to wear and walk straight off the runway.

The collection had an air of cool, day time to evening glamour, with a range of pantsuits and evening gowns that had a clear day-to-night divide. As one of the many designers to redesign the pantsuit in his collection, and especially considering his past in political designing, Wu may have been giving a nod to Hillary Clinton.

Some of the most striking pieces included asymmetric wrap dressed, made from a semi-sheer material with all over velvet pattern, creating a luxurious evening gown. Other designs were made up of silk, sheer, tulle and all over velvet, with the thematic factor being the asymmetric styles. Wu created a twist, in some cases literally, on elegant evening gowns for women.

There’s not much else to say about Wu’s collection, except that it was as glamorous as it was practical while still retaining a subtle sexiness, and an overt projection of pwer.
