Yohji Yamamoto Man Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Yohji Yamamoto offers again his signature cuts and drapes inspired by Japanese aesthetics. The show offers what is expected from Yohji Yamamoto. Tailored shapes in black, grey and white can be observed. He also offers the use slogans. The words such as “JAPAN! This is for you” and “YOU have NO Marbles!’ reflects the inspiration of this collection.
The looks are smart and can also be appealing to those who like to experiment with their style. Grey tailored suits are teamed up with pink, purple and red coats. The attached collars and long wide sleeves give the notion that the kimono has inspired it. The camouflage prints are colourful and busy but not too heavy. There is the presence of long shirts and interesting collar shapes.
The looks at the end give a narrative feel and are a representative of Yohji Yamamoto’s way with oversized black silhouettes.
