Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten Man Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – The first look featured a double-breasted coat with full structured shoulders. This has been seen before in Dries Van Noten shows and seems to be one that works well throughout time.  This collection starts on a sleek minimalistic note. Oversized jumpers, blazers and coats are seen with narrow trousers.  The careful selection of fabrics was visible. Dries Van Noten even went onto displaying the logos of their fabric suppliers on sweaters.

As the show progressed there was a colour palette of red, navy blue, brown, grey, black along with the use of denim. Checks and embellished florals were visible. Square toes shoes were a reminder of the 1990s shape and yet managed to have an essence of recent times.

Dries van Noten has stressed how he wanted to think about the future and the development in his work. This is present in this collection. He has used his past ideas and changed them to reflect a more tough and modern approach.
