Ermanno Scervino

Ermanno Scervino Woman Spring Summer 2017 – It was clear from the outset that Scervino’s SS17 collection was to be sophisticated, intricate and chic Billowing painters shirtsleeves emerged from sleeveless double-breasted coat dresses, festooned with large pearl buttons and beautiful broaches. A thigh high split revealed skin in this demure look.

There were clear military influences in the collection. Rather than a line of soldiers however, models looked dainty and feminine. Broaches on jackets acted as war medals and classic military jackets were blush pink with ornate detailing.

Gowns were flowering splendours with 3D blossoms trailing down the body. Mint and rose organza was carefully pleated into diamond shapes and fluffed upwards at the neck. Floral beading climbed up the shoulder whilst waists were cinched with ribbon.

The second half of the show took a slightly more seductive turn with lingerie influences, including leopard print suits and dramatic ink black dresses. Hemlines were raised to the upper thigh in lacy rompers and necklines plunged towards the waist.
