Issey Miyake

Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – If you thought that Earth, Wind and Fire were just a band, elements or zodiac symbols then you clearly underestimated the ability of Issey Miyake.

This autumnal line exquisitely displays the essence of nature in the extreme. Inspired by landscapes of earth and fire, volcanoes and glaciers and brought to life with texture and depth, this line is something even the darkest depths of your mind couldn’t reach.

The combination of functionality and eccentricity is balanced with oozing sophistication. It is not only the use of colours that have helped to awe the audience; the multi colours of reds, oranges and yellows to symbolize fire and lava from a volcano whilst blacks, greens and blues replicate the Northern Lights but also the process in which the items are made. Ponchos that have been hand made and stretched as if from intense winds.
