Paleolithic

  

The Paleolithic era refers to a period of history within the Stone Age which saw the discovery and development of primitive stone tools. In terms of Paleolithic fashion, it was extremely popular to dress in animal-skin and animal hides which were usually transformed into wrap-around skirts and shawls. It is rumoured that garments were salvaged from plants and woven leaves during summertime, as animal hides would have proven far too warm. The modern representation of the Paleolithic era is of course the use of leather which remains extremely relevant in high-fashion today. Used in the past only for jackets and boots, the recent eruption of the leather trend sees the versatile material used by designers such as Lanvin to create everything from T-shirts to midi-skirts, creating a look which is both slick and edgy.
