Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

Spring – Summer 2014 – It’s seems art was also on the mind at Jean- Charles de Castelbajac with pop art pieces on the catwalk form start to finish. It was bold and very bright with also some muted under tone art reference pieces also. We were treated to a rich colour pallet of primary colours at first with red, green and blue before taking us into a natural influence with gold tones and finishing with classic monochrome. The bold print work was very Schiaparelli and made a stunning impact due to the fact the he kept silhouettes simple and let the colours and print do the talking.

Dresses came in tunic, shift and maxi styles and wide legged tailored trousers with a relaxed feel to them. A stand out piece had to be the sheer maxi kaftan with graffiti writing all over; this will be a hit on the street and on the beach. A chic and bold collection for spring/summer and one, which we will be seeing on every editorial page next season.
